About this venue

Hitching Post of Maine is an 1830 barn on 100 acres along the Saco River in Dayton, with warm wood framing, soaring ceilings, and a hand-hewn timber arbor on the outdoor ceremony lawn. Capacity is 150 guests seated or standing, indoors or out, with rustic barn-board tables and Chiavari chairs included. Rental covers three days of access — the day before for decorating and rehearsal, the wedding day until 10 pm, and the morning after. Catering works from a preferred list ranging from food trucks to formal dinners, and couples can bring their own alcohol as long as a licensed bar service pours it. The venue books June through October only. No lodging on site. Wheelchair accessible.
